Kubernetes Platform Engineer — Multi-cluster

About the role
Run our EKS + GKE fleet across three regions. You'll own the platform foundation: GitOps with Argo CD, the service mesh, the autoscaler tuning, and the cost-per-namespace dashboards every team reads weekly. We migrated off raw EC2 in 2024 and now need a senior platform engineer to make the cluster experience boringly reliable.
What you’ll do
- Own the multi-cluster control plane and the rollout pipeline
- Tune the autoscaler stack — VPA, HPA, Karpenter — for predictable cost
- Ship the service-mesh upgrade path the rest of the team builds on
- Set up cluster-level observability with Prometheus + Grafana + Loki
- Mentor two SREs joining the team in Q3
What we’re looking for
- Production Kubernetes at multi-cluster scale — not just kubeadm clusters
- Comfortable across EKS + GKE; bonus for AKS
- GitOps fluency with Argo CD or Flux
- Strong opinions on service mesh trade-offs (Istio vs Linkerd vs Cilium)
- Has driven a cluster cost reduction program with measurable savings
