About the role

Build the metrics-ingest pipeline for our observability product. Go, Kafka, Postgres, and a hard latency budget (p99 ingest < 50ms). You'll own a critical hot path used by every customer dashboard in the platform.

What you’ll do

• Own the ingest pipeline end-to-end — from API edge through Kafka into Postgres
• Drive the latency budget and the regression-test harness around it
• Design + ship the schema migrations the rest of the team builds on
• Pair with the SRE team on the on-call runbook for this surface
• Document trade-offs so the next engineer onboards in days, not weeks

What we’re looking for

• Production Go in a service handling > 10k RPS
• Comfortable optimising hot paths — profiling, allocations, GC tuning
• Has shipped on Kafka with exactly-once semantics
• Knows Postgres deeply (or another OLTP engine with similar trade-offs)
• Writes the kind of code reviewers approve quickly because it is hard to misread
