- 1. Tax Form Submission — Submitting your tax information is a straightforward process: U.S. Freelancers (W-9): What You Need: Legal Name, Address (Street, City, State, ZIP Code), and SSN or EIN. Purpose: Used for generating the 1099-NEC form to report earnings over $600. Non-U.S. Freelancers (W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E): What You Need: Legal Name, Country of Citizenship, Address, and FTIN or U.S. TIN (if applicable). Purpose: To certify non-U.S. residency and claim tax treaty benefits. Certification: A checkbox must be checked to confirm: — “I certify that the information provided is accurate and matches my tax records.” Submission Confirmation: A success notification will appear after submission: — "Success! Your tax information has been submitted. Thank you for completing this step."
- 2. Tax Form Availability — Once tax documents are ready (e.g., 1099-NEC or W-8BEN): Notification: Users will see a dashboard banner: — “Your tax form for [Year] is ready for download.” Download Options: Files will be available in PDF format under the “Tax Documents” section.
- 3. Tax Form Submission Deadlines — December 1: Submission window opens. December 15: Mid-month reminder email and dashboard notification sent. December 28: Final warning for non-compliance. December 31: Deadline for submission. January 1: Payout suspension for non-compliance.
Accessing Tax Documents
- Tax Form Download — Available by January 31 for the previous year’s earnings. Accessible via the Tax Documents section in your dashboard.
- Transaction History: — Tax-related transaction details can be reviewed in the Transaction Summary, including withheld taxes (if applicable).
